New Zealand Immigration Medical Exam
Medical examinations are undertaken at these rooms for any person seeking a temporary work visa, a student visa or permanent residency.
Medicals:
Working together, we are able to provide most clients with a completed medical report within three working days from the first appointment. Please ring or call in to make a time for your first appointment. The report must be collected in person.
Where the NZ Immigration Service require two faeces specimens for persons from tropical countries, medical reports will take a further three working days, after the second sample has been delivered to the laboratory.
Appointments:
In order to complete an immigration medical, you will need 2 visits to Queen Street Doctors.
- 1st appointment: Please allow 1.5 hours to complete the first section of your medical. You will need to spend 30 minutes at the doctors, 15-20 minutes with the phlebotomist for blood tests and 30 minutes at the X-ray clinic. This is an approximate time frame.
- 2nd appointment: Please allow 3 working days for results to come back. You will be booked a 15 minute appointment with the doctor for a full medical examination, a review of your results and your medical signed off.
What to bring:
- NZ Immigration medical forms
- 3x passport sized photographs
- Current passport
Additional Tests:
If additional tests are required, these will incur in extra costs and are to be paid at Diagnostic MedLab.
Children:
- All applicants including children and newborn babies are required to submit a completed medical certificate.
- Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- An X-ray is not required for children under the age of 11yrs
- Children under 15 are not usually required to undergo the standard blood tests, unless risk or clinical factors make these necessary.
- Children under 5 are not usually required to give a urine sample.
